Labour market change and family dynamics

I am also interested in examining the effects of labour market transformations on family dynamics. I have investigated the role of economic uncertainty on fertility in general as well as during the most recent economic recession. Currently, I running the ERC Consolidator Grant LABFER in which I am investigating how the ongoing labour market transformations, driven by globalisation and technological change, affect family dynamics. In particular, we examine the role of such labour market changes as the spread of labour replacing technologies or growing opportunities of working from home. In another EU funded project, Risks, Resources and Inequalities (rEUsilience), we investigate which strategies couples adopt in order to adjust to the deal with the labour market risks resulting from the adoption of new technologies, globalisation or demographic change.
